Character Information
Main Characters
Colorado (Performer/Semi-Famous Celebrity in Japan) Little is know about Colorado except that he's been in Japan a long time (too long?). He is now a semi-famous celebrity in Japan doing crazy stunts and variety on Japanese TV and somehow has links to the Yakuza. One day he's running around in a banana skirt chasing high schools girls on a TV variety show and the next day he's bossing around Yakuza workers at a hostess club he owns.
Billy ("Kid", Pro Baseball Player) is a delusional, happy go lucky guy who tries to live in Japan like it's America and "no problem anyways" because he'll be going back soon... yeah, right. Unfortunately the reality of Japan clashes with his illusion of living in America and happy go lucky nice guy Billy finds himself in all sorts of silly, crazy and... undesirable situations.
Austin ("Oz", Part time English Teacher, Part time "Convenience Man") "Oz" has $200,000.00 in loans from his medical schooling but after finishing school decided that sleeping, playing games, chasing women and partying appeals to him more that 14 hours in a depressing emergency room hospital. Oz decided on the "Easy Life"... teaching English... something that comes pretty easy to him as... that is is native language. Oz teaches English and supplement his diet of Ramen and Sapporo beer Oz takes on odd jobs as a "Convenience Man*" (* A "Convenience Man" is a term in Japan for a person that takes on a short time... unconventional jobs for a clients. Such as... playing the dead man in an open air casket where the real body couldn't be used because it was burned beyond recognition = P.S. this idea is an episode).
Yukio ("Yuuj", Japanese - son of rich CEO) is Confused Oppositely. Yep... he's turning American. After going to high school and college in America, Yukio has a hard time being Japanese all the time. Yukio works at his dad's company (and one day will be boss) but stresses out all the time and skips out of work to be with the XPats.
Sub-Characters
Kelly (American Girl) is in Japan strait from college. She is so into everything Japanese and really trying to learn the culture of the country (while Billy, Austin and Colorado just try to "play around"). Kelly works at a "Fashionable" clothing shop in Tokyo selling wild Japanese style clothing to young women.
Arisa (Japanese Girl) is a trendy clothes designer (she met Kelly at one of the shops her "Brand" is in). Arisa is totally Not, what the typical American thinks a Japanese girl is like. Arisa is super modern, trendy and high wild fashion... although... she looks pretty good in a Yukata (summer type, light Kimono).
Jungo (Japanese Mafia "Yakuza") is a Japanese Mafia boss and hangs out with Colorado. grew up watching American movies like "Shaft" and "The Godfather"... TV shows like "The Rockford Files" and "Hawaii 5-0". He didn't quite understand the late night airings on Japanese TV but... sure thought they were cool.
Kiiji (Japanese Mafia "Yakuza") is a slightly lower lever Mafia who hangs out with Jungo and Colorado. He too is crazy about the "American Dream" and while trying to retain his tough Japanese mafia stance, he always wants to hang out with the Americans.
Carl (Irish) - In Japan on a "temporary" student visa (although he's over 30 and has been here already 4 years... how?), Carl is learning Kendo (Japanese sword play) and Karate so he can go to America and be a movie star. He met Colorado on a TV show where they both had to sit in boiling Hot Springs for 30min. before being judged by a Japanese panel of how pink their skin would get.
Victor (German) - Victor is a Car Spy. He works as an English Teacher (faking he's American), but in actuality he works for a "Big German Car Company" always trying to steal technological secrets from "Japanese Big Car Companies". His big claim to fame is having "come apon" and "sharing with" his homeland... automatic seat warmers.
Doc (Japanese, Baseball team psychologist) - Wako, but... always seems to come up with some crazy deep meaning that helps Billy out.
