About Wimberger’s Bakery in Colorado Springs
isela and Robert Wimberger founded Wimberger’s Bakery in 1970. Robert Wimberger was a baker in Germany before immigrating to the United States. Out of desperation of not being able to find good German rye bread, Wimberger’s Bakery was established and is still family owned and operated.
Wimberger’s has been located at 2321 Bott Avenue in Colorado Springs since 1972. It started out as a wholesale bakery only and later added the retail store and delicatessen in 1990. They have a loyal customer base across the United States built totally by word of mouth.
Our breads, Kaiser rolls and pretzels are baked fresh daily in the old European style using family recipes handed down from generation to generation with a natural sourdough and contain no preservatives.
We also deliver in Colorado Springs and the Denver area to select grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants and delicatessens.
Our newly expanded delicatessen carries a large variety ofluncheon meats, imported cheeses, butter and fish along with a large assortmentof imported dry goods. We also carry imported jellies, soups, cake mixes,noodles, cookies, chocolates, pickles, vinegar and baby care items just to mention a few.
