Passion Portrait Style
by Gretchen Kirstel
On this page are two examples of handsome, original portraits painted in fine oil. In order to complete this kind of portrait, the artist interviews the client to find out what his or her passions are in life. Gretchen gets to know the client, discusses the connections between the person and their passion, takes several pictures of them actively working, and using several shots plans the painting on canvas. The "Piano Man" was painted in 1989, is done in oils on canvas, and is 26" X 36" in size. The "Juggler" was painted in 1981, is done in oils on canvas, and is 24" X 36" in size. This style of painting could be done with anyone, child or adult, at Gretchen's studio in Colorado Springs. If you are interested in having a portrait done in this style, please email Gretchen for a consultation appointment, by using the "Email Gretchen" tab.
