Pencil Portrait Style

Gretchen has chosen graphite pencil to complete this sensitive portrait of  "Lyda".  The soft gray hues blend together and give the subject a spiritual quality.  The model sat for this portrait, and because of her age, it was done in a very short time.  This style of portrait can be done with a live model in pencil, ink, charcoal, colored pencils, or pastel pencils, depending on your preference.  "Lyda" was done in 2009, was on smooth drawing paper, 8" X 11 inches.  Gretchen has completed many pencil, pen, charcoal drawings of adults and children, young and elderly.  If you would like one of these sensitive and serene pictures drawn of one of your loved ones, please contact Gretchen by using the Email Gretchen tab on this site.
