"Desert Gardener"

Gretchen started this painting in New Mexico while visiting Ojo Calientes Spa.  On a cool, overcast and rainy day, she sat outside her room, on a small deck, and painted a gardener working on the desert plants that grew there. She wanted to capture the immediate moment in her painting, using an impressionist style.  The warm oranges contrast with the cool blues and purples which in some unfathomable way gives the painting a comforting mood.
